According to Yakov Smirnoff, a world renowned comedian/painter/professor/author, this was the sign that greeted him  in 1977 in the airport when he, at age 26, and his family emigrated to the United States from Odessa, Russia. He was touched and felt welcome immediately. (Obviously some creative license was taken, but the comedy of it works well.) Smirnoff took the stage of the Annenberg Building for Health Sciences at the Eisenhower Medical Center campus and immediately won the hearts of the audience. The performance was sold out and the theater was packed.
