I have adored “the psychic extraordinaire” Sylvia Browne for at least 20 years. I read her very first book, “Adventures of a Psychic,” and have been hooked on the spirit world ever since. I dreamed of the day when I would meet her, and she would give me a reading that would include the words: “happy,” “healthy,” “successful” and the like. Sat., Jan. 31, Browne appeared at the Spotlight 29 Casino, and that was my opportunity to see her (fairly) close up. Unfortunately there would not be a reading for me. That was unfortunate because I felt positive that my grandmothers, both maternal and paternal, would know that I was there and they would contact me via Browne. Naturally. To insure that they would find me, I brought a rosary from one grandmother and a broach from the other.

Okay. Not this time. Maybe they were busy with other tasks?

sylvia-browne-031.jpgThe show started with Brown sitting in a comfortable chair with a lamp and table beside her. The stage was beautifully appropriate for her presentation. A curtain behind her was black and twinkling with little lights. It appeared serene and perfect to set the ambience for the evening. Once the audience members, who screamed, “I love you” to Browne, had settled down, it was time to get on with the show.

The intense and constant touring schedule that Browne had been doing lately wreaked havoc on her voice, but that gravelly, dry voice seemed to add to the mystique of Browne’s presence. Her wonderful, dry sense of humor had the audience in stitches for a good portion of the show.

Browne began by telling her loving (and sold-out) audience that the economy will improve but not for a while. She did not really dwell on the condition of our world; instead she focused on what we could do right now to make ourselves happy.

sylvia-browne-047.jpgHer adamant advice was for us to avoid the people around us who drain us of our energy, no matter who. Even if they are mother, father, sister, brother, etc. We should just stay away from them. The effect that the “energy vampires” suck out of us is exactly what we do not need.

She also advised that it is of extreme importance to take care of our bodies and to honor God by honoring ourselves. This can be accomplished by eating well and cutting way back or better yet, eliminating sugar!

What? Why? I did not get the answer to that question, but as a person who’s only vice now is sugar, this was quite distressing to me. I was popping a piece of licorice in my mouth as she said it (and I swear she looked straight at me).

She spoke that the earth as we know it is not going to end in 2012, as has been predicted. Instead, she tells us that what will likely happen is that no more soul entities will be joining us. That is why there are so many more fertility problems (I did not ask about the woman who has 14 kids, and how she managed to do that).

After Browne finished telling us what she wanted to tell us, it was time for big fun.

Those who had VIP tickets were able to get in one of two lines in front of the stage. A split screen was used to show both the person asking the question as well as Browne’s response. This was a particularly entertaining part of the evening.

I do not know if it is because Browne is so smart and so much more “spiritually advanced” than the rest of us mere mortals, but she has a bit of a sarcastic bite. I like it. It does make one a little embarrassed for the person asking the question, though. Browne is used to being accurate about so many things, so she gets a little impatient if her answer is questioned. To her credit, though, some people took up too much time and were not specific enough to get a simple answer.

One young lady stepped up to the microphone; she was quite upset because her brother had recently died. Browne told her that her brother sends birds to let her know that he is still around. When the young lady asked what the message was, Browne replied that he was telling her that he was sending birds around her. Simple. It was pretty funny and lightened the mood a little bit.

The audience members who were sitting near me were desperate (REALLY desperate) to get in line and ask a question. I was afraid there would be some fistfights in the aisles. It may have been a little unclear as to how and why the individuals who asked the questions were able to do so. All I know is people get very worked up when it comes to communicating with the dead.

sylvia-browne-062.jpgMany questions were somewhat personal and obviously very important to the person doing the asking. The part that was amazing to me is the speed and accuracy of Browne’s answers. “Boom,” she knows. She knows when a person’s exit time is (when they will die) and if they will suffer. She told a woman when she would find and marry the man of her dreams. She told another woman when she would have a child and what the sex would be.

Now, since I do not have a way to follow up with these people to find out if, indeed Browne’s predictions come true, we will just have to believe. It is also understood that right this second as a person is following this exact path, what Browne has told them would likely be true. If, however a person decides to change the path they are on (because we all have free will), then another situation will occur.

There are a lot of aspects of intuitiveness and psychicness that are still not understood by society as a whole. Browne herself has said that it took quite some time for her to accept and use her gifts. The worst part for her, she said, is that she cannot “see” her own future or do a reading on herself. Therefore, many mistakes and disappointments were hers with which to deal.

I suppose that is life, and most likely it is a protective measure that she cannot see her own future. Apparently she has lessons to learn through trial and error, just as the rest of us.

Browne told us that the individuals on the earth in this human dimension are very brave. She told us that this is the very hardest time in history.

The reason is because of the state of the world. Drugs, war, gangs and the economy: all of these things allow those of us who are here now to perfect our souls more quickly. It is likely that the people who are here currently are “mission life entities,” which means that we are close to our soul’s perfection, and luckily for most of us this will be one of our last lives in the human realm.

From what I understand, Browne has a very long waiting list, if one is interested in a one-on-one reading with her. Fortunately for those of us dying to get a clear and concise reading, Browne has a psychic son named Christopher who has been working with her for years. He is extremely gifted, but not yet as sought after as his mother. His waiting list is not quite as long.

There were so many questions that I would have loved to have been given the opportunity to ask Browne, especially since I have been such a huge fan for so many years. After listening to her speak, I really wondered if my dear sugar is available in the Other Side, because to me, that is heaven!

When she is not writing a book (she has written 50 total!) or on the touring circuit, Browne and her two sons run a Gnostic church in Southern California.

Thanks to Sylvia Browne and the staff and management of Spotlight 29 Casino for making this talented psychic available to the public.
